Who we are

achoo.fyi (the "Service") is a personal SMS notification project operated by Matthew Hemby, a sole proprietor located in Austin, Texas. It is a hobby and personal project, not a business, medical service, or commercial product.

Information we collect

When you sign up, we collect:

• Your mobile phone number (required; used to deliver the daily SMS).
• Your email address (optional; used as an identity anchor for preference updates).
• Your ZIP code (used to fetch local pollen data).
• The over-the-counter antihistamines you've selected from our defined list.
• Basic send logs (when messages were sent, what was recommended, whether delivery succeeded).

How we use your information

We use your phone number and preferences solely to:

• Send you one daily SMS with a recommended over-the-counter antihistamine based on local pollen conditions.
• Allow you to update preferences or unsubscribe.
• Debug delivery issues.

Mobile numbers are not shared

We do not share your mobile phone number with anyone outside of the SMS carriers required to deliver your messages. Specifically:

• Twilio (our SMS carrier) receives your phone number and the outgoing message content for delivery.
• Cloudflare (our infrastructure host) stores your data in Cloudflare D1, a serverless database.
• Google Pollen API receives only coordinates derived from your ZIP code. It does not receive your phone number, email, or any personal data.

No third party, affiliate, or partner receives your phone number for marketing purposes. We do not sell, rent, or trade phone numbers under any circumstance.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
• We do not share your data with advertisers or marketers.
• We do not use your data for any purpose other than operating this Service.
• We do not share your phone number with other users of the Service.

SMS consent and frequency

By signing up, you expressly consent to receive one (1) SMS message per day at the number you provide. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, QUIT, or END. You can reply HELP for help. You can also update preferences or unsubscribe by visiting achoo.fyi and completing phone verification.

Data retention

If you unsubscribe, we retain your phone number in a "do not contact" state to honor your opt-out. You can request full deletion by contacting us (see below). Send logs are retained for up to 90 days for debugging and abuse prevention, then deleted.

Your rights

You can:

• Unsubscribe at any time via STOP or by visiting achoo.fyi.
• Request deletion of your data by emailing the contact address below.
• Update your preferences via achoo.fyi.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and access-controlled secrets. However, this is a personal project maintained by an individual, not a commercial service with dedicated security staff. Please do not provide sensitive information beyond what is required to operate the Service.

Children

This Service is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced via SMS to active users.
